After originally being scheduled to hit 7th and DH, Carlos Ruiz was removed from the ‘Pigs lineup. Ruiz took batting practice and apparantly felt some discomfort in his oblique area, and was removed from the lineup minutes before the game. He will be re-evauluated in Philly tomorrow.
In other news, Carlos Carrasco complained of both a blister as well as soreness in his elbow after his poor start yesterday. Carrasco believes he will be able to make his next start. Andy Tracy was also a late scratch from the lineup Monday night after developing back spasms. He was replaced at first by Mike Cervenak.
Long homer by Mayberry off of Clay Buchholz.

Walking wounded down here. I hate to hear about elbow problems. Carpenter had another nice outing, at least on paper. If he has his 4 pitches working, he can keep guys off-balance. I saw him once last year when he struggling at Reading. He was just good enough to keep Reading in the game and they won it late. He can do that for you. He won’t mow everybody down but he can keep you in the game.

I would imagine Ruiz going back on the IR that sould make Marson defacto full time Coste seems terrible in back to back games sorta stiff. If Ruiz does go back to the IR does it effect
the minor league order of thing . The Jaramillo thing is turing into the Outer Limits
btw i admit i bought into trading Jarmillo not neccarily for Paulino sigh

I was against the Paulino trade. Jaramillo had very good splits from the left side recently and Phils catchers are right-handed, I thought he would have beena valuable piece, spelling Marson in the next 2-3 years until D’Arnaud is ready. Not many cacthers give you a good platoon option and platoons are espcially valuable at catcher, where they need a lot more rest.
