Spring training games start today

I was planning on rolling out some college baseball related info today, but its taking longer than I expected, and I want to devote the next few days to working on my Top 30. So instead, I’m going to push the college baseball stuff back. I’m sure some prospects will see game action today, so we’ll have something to talk about. You can talk about it here until my Top 30 hits the site.

  1. This is probably a bad place to put it, but since this seems like a fairly open thread, why not:

BA’s top 100 was released yesterday. Notables:

    48 – Dom Brown
    52 – Carlos Carrasco
    64 – Lou Marson
    69 – Jason Donald
    74 – Adrian Cardenas
    97 – Gio Gonzalez

  5. this is gonna be a rough spring training for hewitt, atleast the guys that gave up all the runs have no shot to make the team anyway

  6. NEPP,
I listened to Hewitt’s first AB. He started 3-0. Took a strike, fouled a couple off, then K’d. I don’t know about the second one.

  9. it would have been nice to see taylor get some swings with the big league club this spring considering how well he did last year

  10. Hewitt’s second AB he fouled off a pitch, and maybe took a couple pitches before grounding it back up the middle.

  11. Well I didn’t get to the first game today in Bradenton, but I will be there on Thursday in Clearwater…my wife is so excited she can’t even wait for me to get off of work at noon. She is going with one of our neighbors to get there at 10:00. Gates don’t even open until 10:30. I’m telling you, a woman this good is hard to find.

  12. I know one spring training game is about the smallest sample size you can get, but I’m glad to hear that Hewitt was working the count.
