  1. So, P.J. Forbes was not exactly fired but merely demoted to bunting/baserunning field coordinator. Ramon Henderson accepts position as Clearwater coach. That clears a couple of overblown rumors that have been floating out there.

  2. Looks like Steve Schrenk is slowly climbing the ladder. I think he had like 7 kids and that was back when he pitched for the Phils around 1998. Maybe he has about 15-17 kids by now.

  3. Seems all the managers were catchers, except for Chris Truby who they say was a Third Baseman. Maybe he caught on the side.

Filer goes to Williamsport, maybe management doesn’t see the same issues as were placed on here from time to time.
Hopefully they got it right for one of the more entry-like destinations for minor leaguers.

  4. Something I was thinking about if I am not wrong. A player has to play 4 and 1/2 years to collect a pension. This guy has 4 season if he is promoted to a major league coach does that count as service time so he can get a pension.

  5. Sad to see Lakewood is losing Roadcap…he would have been great for d’Arnaud’s development given he is a former catcher. That being said, he will have a lot of talent to work with at the AA level – he’s a great manager, I expect good things from Reading this year.

  6. Great News Marfis
Is Pittsburg stashing bad Manaagers. Russel had a big hand in Happ’s troubles in 2007
I just wish the Phil were as loyal to their players as they are to bad coachs

  7. I went for Galvis again—I guess I am either a Floridian or Gopher because my ballot failed on number 10 🙂

  8. I’ve been looking for this info for weeks. It is usually out earlier than this. Maybe the Phillies had more important things to do this year, like win a World Series.

  9. PhuturePhillies – does your comment at the end mean you predict CC will stay at AAA all year? I understand that would only be your prediction, but I’m curious where you view him in 2009.

  10. RodeoJones, I know you didn’t ask me but I thought the signing of Moyer and Park was going to mean CC would be in AAA until he’s needed in Philly (injury or trade). There’s rumors that Blanton will be traded but right now there’s a logjam for 5th starter. Happ/CC/Kendrick/Park will be fighting it out. AAA may have Happ, CC, Kendrick and Carpenter as their starters. Huppert and Nichols should be smiling with that rotation.
