  1. Is Kendall Simmons hurt? I haven’t seen his name in the box scores in quite some time.
For some of these players, if they are always hurt they will eventually be passed by other players in the system.

    1. I’m not sure why you’re surprised about this. It happens all the time. When players get an opportunity, they have a chance to prove their worth. You can see it with Dalton Guthrie. He didn’t deserve the promotion to Lehigh, but for whatever reason, he’s hitting lights out. He’s not headed back to Reading anytime soon.

  2. Jim

I live in Winston-Salem and the Threshers are in town this week. If you happen to know, when is Mick Able scheduled to make his next start? In another thread someone [it may have been you] mentioned that his next start would be tonight.

  3. Please disregard my comment. Jersey Shore is in town [Winston-Salem], not Clearwater. Sorry for the confusion.

    1. Looks like Abel is pitching tonight for Clearwater, I was also hoping to see him in Winston , but I don’t think he was promoted yet. I think Jim was thinking maybe he would be by now.

  4. Wow those are big bonuses for us Romus. Someone must really like these young men…

Flores is 5’11” 206 LBS is that a typo LOL

    1. DMAR…apparently not a typo, both BR and Fangraphs have him at that weight….he is rather stocked I guess .,,,hopefully defined.
After the string of Tocci, Grullon, Pujols, Encarnacion, Braylan Garcia…all monetary bonuses of significance, hoping the Phillies will become that blind squirrel soon.

  5. Glad to see Billy Sullivan is back in Reading, was worried when he went on the IL, looking forward to seeing how he does the rest of the year.

    1. Don’t worry about Billy Sullivan. I’ve been talking to his Dad (seriously) who sometimes works in my office (great guy, by the way) and he said what happened to him is no big deal at all and he’s fine. It sounds like he may even have regretted saying anything to the staff, but the Phillies are super careful with their young pitchers, as they should be.

      1. Good to hear, as I was hoping he would be in LV by now but as long as he’s healthy that’s the main thing.

  6. Just 60 PAs….but Jamari Baylor smokin’…three more hits today..OPS >.900 so far….keep it up guy.

    1. Loved Jamari out of that draft. To the extent where we got him (3rd round) and his profile. then 2020 and no ball for him. He’s 20 now so hopefully he comes along at a nice pace.

      1. I also….like to see him progress enough that by mid-August they let him get a taste of Hi-A at the Jersey Shore.

        1. If that happens let’s take a road trip. I’ve never been to that park and its probably only an hour from Bucks County

          1. Road trip!

But NL reminded me…..Clearwater would be his next stop out of the FSL…..I keep getting the new minor league system screwed up.
Heck even Dave D keeps calling it the Gulf Coast League.
