  1. I was at the Lehigh Valley game, so I thought I would supply some of my observations. Knapp is extremely advanced as a hitter. Having said that, he isn’t going to stick at catcher. He made one of the ugliest attempts to throw out a base runner at second base I think I’ve ever witnessed. The good news is his bat is so nice that he can play a corner outfield position or first base. Good thing we have Alfaro! Nick Williams took two bases on a strike out. His speed is real, both on offense and defense. This was my first time at Coca cola Field and I gotta say the place is a great time. I will definitely back a lot more times in the near phuture.

    1. I watch some of the game on tv. Knapp swing is really nice to see. I think he is a legit big league hitter. I don’t know about his position. I was switching back and forth to see the flyers and the oak lawn derby. so didn’t see all of the game. Nick Williams was not getting around on Berrios fastball in two at bats I saw. He also was fooled on the kids breaking ball. Berrios is the number 2 prospects for the twins. The kid reminds me of nola. 89 TO 92 t 93 twice , has a good breaking ball and changeup. He threw a breaking ball to Knapp on a 2-2 count which was imo a strike but called a ball. next pitch Knapp hit a hard line drive to left center to drive in two .I hate the new announcer for lhv he is terrible. I hope to see more of knapp and Williams in coming months .The one thing about Williams is he is smooth in the field. and has speed. Just need more time. I know why he isn’t up after watching him. Need better plate discipline

      1. rocco….no report on Severino Gonzalez’ three innings in the middle of the bullpen day?
He did have a decent 60% strike- to- pitch ratio.

        1. Romus I was going back and forth. I am a big horse racing guy. and there were prep races yesterday for the derby. so didn’t really see a lot of Gonzalez.

    2. Even though the Phillies are notorious for taking their time promoting prospects, I don’t see how the Phillies can deny promoting Knapp if he’s still ripping in mid-May. The bat will tell you when he’s ready, and by all accounts, he’s ready now. And if he’s so poor behind the plate, I don’t see how spending the year at Lehigh will get him up to an average defensive catcher. He’s probably years behind, and there’s no way he’ll be at Lehigh in 2017, barring a catastrophe.

  2. Watched the Reading game, both HR’s from Cozen’s and Alfaro were opposite fields. I liked what I saw from Ramos last year in his short stint in Reading but he was dealing tonight. The announcers for Harrisburg, talked about how hard it must be for their hitters to go from facing a soft tosser all night only to have to face the hard throwing Ramos who I believe they had a couple of his FB’s at 96.

Brown has been doing better of late, I don’t know much about him since I don’t get to see Clearwater games, was surprised at how fast he is.

    1. Daniel,

Thanks for the report on Ramos.

I was going to ask if anyone who’s seen him this year could comment.

I enjoyed watching Ramos at Clearwater last year and made him one of my Top 20 prospects back in January, though the list has gotten jumbled since. At any rate, he’s clearly been lights out at Reading so far.

On another note, lights out is the word in Clearwater. Garcia no runs in two starts

    2. Daniel I am interested in Cozens bat speed, any one comment on it or do you think he has enough bat speed??

  3. Walding is 2 HR away from his career high of 7 in a season set after 108 games at Lakewood in 2014. He is still striking out a bit much and making errors at third, but 5 HR in 9 games is a real nice start.

  4. Hope Pullin changes his mind and comes back.
He has to see how Lino has responded to a similar quasi ‘demotion’ and still plugging away.
Pullin wasn’t signaled out…there are 29 other companies in the business that are possibilities for advancement…he just needs to prove his worth and keep the resume current..

  5. Today Reading put a 3 spot on that nats # 1 pitching prospect. I watched the LV game too Williams did rip a double later on in the game. Featherston looks like a different player much more confident , the ball comes off bat fast . He also has a plus arm and can run. Cam Perkins ripped a triple to the track . The pitchers were all relievers with Bailey and Seve looking the best . Venable and Lough look really to come up. Knapp looks really good on O on D there’s work to be done.

      1. rocco…but the other two against the relievers were good… were out at the races! 🙂

      2. Yeah but he hit a double and single after that how hard is it too look better then Hunter , Burris .he can op out of his contact at the end of this month.

  6. Two pitching gems today:
Eflin with a superb Game Score of 83 and also Arauz with a Game Score of 77.

  7. Your boy Romus hit his 1st hr today so did Pujols .Featherston and Cam Perkins stay hot, Alfaro jeez looking good, all 4 won maybe it’s spring weather thing. Phillies well 2.8 runs per game ti e for some changes.

  8. My man Viza with 9 strikeouts today. I never saw this kid pitch. But just looking at how bad his numbers were and to still move up. There had to be something they liked
