  1. I believe that I read somewhere that Altherr finished his season and went home. I also believe that Perkins was called back to the US by the Phillies and not sent back to LA for some reason.

  2. They’ll need to come off their reported depends if anyone is getting traded at the meetings. In that cases we could see Byrd or Bastardo go for minimum returns.

Still not sure Hamels will go as the Phils are unlikely to get the franchise altering deal they are looking for.

  3. Expected a little more from Dylan Cozens in the ABL….he is improving somewhat from his start last month……….I guess the ‘roo pitching has been too much for him to handle at this point.

  4. Good to see Franco bounce back. He certainly seems like a streak hitter at this point. Also good to see valentine having a nice winter. He’s a guy to keep an eye on next year. What’s with Neris? He’ll definitely be in the mix in spring training for a bullpen job. He’ll probably start the season at LHV but he definitely could see some extended time in Philly next year.

    1. I agree. But it may not take an injury. They have about 14 relievers on their 40-man roster. Without any trades, I would think that only Papelbon, Giles, Diekman, and Bastardo are assured a spot. I’m not prepared to say that De Fratus, Hollands, and Jimenez have locked up their spots. Any pitcher who can separate himself from the pack during spring training would have a chance of making the opening day squad. The trade of a reliever or two would only increase the possibility that somebody like Neris could make the team.

  5. Some of the boys down under are starting to click. We all know the Earth spins backwards and the sun rises in the west and sets in the east there (just kidding). Cozens is over .250 and Walding is in the .240s. Cozens has a weak on base average at .300 but Walding’s is .338. Pointer is a mess. He can be very streaky but this is a very bad streak. Straighten up and fly right, Bri.
