  1. Congratulations to both and here’s hoping they both do well in all areas at High-A. If they both do well the rebuilding process may not take as long as some people would think.

  2. I like the move. I think it’s good to see the org be aggressive with a very talented, potential star player. I also think it’s important for fans not to over-react if he struggles at Clearwater. I wouldn’t be surprised if there are some struggles.
As for Quinn, ultimately, we all know his bat will determine whether he becomes a solid major league player. He has started to hit better and it will be interesting to see how he progresses the rest of the year coming off the Achilles injury.

    1. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Quinn relax and start to hit better. He knew Crawford was a 1st rd pick playing the same position and he knew he was only so so as a SS. The two of them batting 1/2 in the order will make CWater the first place we all look.

  3. Clearwater will now be the first box score I check instead of the last one It will get even more interesting if Nola gets assigned there

  4. If all goes well (hasn’t happened for awhile, so we may be due), Crawford is Opening Day SS in 2016 and Quinn fills a need in CF at some point in 2016 or 2017. Trying to be optimistic as I need something.

    1. Sometime in 2016…probably mid-July or after, you know financial ramifications abound in this business they call baseball, ….Quinn leading off and Crawford batting second at CBP.

  5. It’s pretty clear that of the AA roster, AAA roster, and Phils roster, there is not a single player that should be a starting OF in the big leagues on a contending team in 2017. Roman Quinn excelling in CF would be a nice first step towards rebuilding.

  6. Quinn, Crawford and probably Nola give you reason to look at CWater box score now. Hopefully, all 3 do well and start next season in Reading.

  7. Crawford could see AA this year if he has a great second half here. It is highly unlikely but its possible. If he can split next year between AA & AAA that would be great for the Phils. Maybe even a cup of coffee in Sept 2015 would not be out of the question.

    1. I doubt he’ll be in AA by year’s end, although I will admit it is certainly possible. Depending on how he does in Clearwater this year, I’m guessing he’ll either be back there (for maybe a month tops), or starting 2015 in AA.

  8. Whoa Boys. Crawford should take some time to acclimate in CLW. If nothing else, the weather will be brutal. He’s hitting .179 in his last 10 games and .189 in June. Slugging percentage is in the low .200s. Now he’s moving up. I expect a long break in period. So keep up the enthusiasm but don’t expect the 2nd coming of Derek Jeter in the next month. I don’t want to hear a lot of disappointment when he’s hitting under .200 for a while. On the other hand, if he’s hitting .300 and playing a solid SS in a month, then all aboard!
