One added comment on Biddle: his attitude is phenomenal. He works extremely hard, responds to coaching and desperately wants to be a Phillie. As a Mt Airy resident and the parent of 2 kids at GFS (one of whom plays with Jesse’s brother on the current team) I confess to being extremely biased. But, unlike many with his physical gifts, his head is screwed on correctly. He’s a great kid, and, if luck holds, will be an extremely popular member of the Phillies in a couple of years.

And he has the talent to play at least a passable, if not a pretty good, corner outfield spot. He may never learn, but he’s not an immovable lump with a noodle arm out there.

Well that completely misses the point I made. We were talking about his ceiling, not his likelihood of reaching it. Of course he could flame out, but if we’re talking about ceiling based on tools, he could certainly be better than just “above average”.

all of this would be fine if he played in the AL. Unfortunately for us, he has to play the field
