I know better than to think a staff will last all year...It never does. Of the pitchers our team started with last year Carpenter was the only one who lasted the entire season.

As far as Cardenas moving up...he played less than two weeks before getting injured. It was a good two weeks, but not enough to say based on that alone he should be promoted. As for the pitchers you mentioned, they'll probably get moved up mid June around the minor league all-star break as some 2008 draftees begin to sign and get placed on rosters. It happens every year, and it will happen again this year.

i,ll bet dave montgomery couldnt be happier about howards start financhilly. It,s time for Cardenas to be in reading , along with Bastardo, sorry Clearwater fans. It,s also time for donald to be on the phillies . since high a ball is equal to college ball Savery should also be at reading. Dont be fooled into thinking this staff will last all year.

You've been very good at providing recapps jeff, but you don't really describe much of what you see personally- in terms of pitcher stuff, hitters and whatnot- thats the stuff that valuable- the things we can't dig up on the web ourselves. Just a suggestion on info i'd value.

Can't hurt...they should give it a shot...same thing happened to Edwin Jackson (TB pitcher) and several others...Troy Percival too IIRC. Troy was drafted as a catcher originally.
