2007 Draftees Roster

If you check at the top of the blog next to the “Prospect Tracker”, you’ll see a chronological list of all the Phillies draft picks from the 2007 draft, their position, height/weight, DOB, and any articles I tracked down about them. I only was able to update the first 15 or so picks, but I’ll get to the rest later. So far, only Kirk Bacsu, our 32nd round pick, has officially signed, and my guess is, no bonus. As I find more, I’ll update. If you find them before me, just post them on the Draftees Page and I’ll update. Thanks.

what confuses me, is that our 14th round pick is out of high school, but hes already 20 and will be 21 soon? Is the age a typo or is this kid just dumb as nails.

  2. Ah, it was a typo, it’s Porterville College. Thanks for catching that, I did that list in a hurry.

    Travis Mattair signed today, right?

  4. Yep. I bolded him on the Draftees page.

  5. Jeff says:

    Yup.

It was announced on the Phillies web page.

I’m really intrigued to see how Taylor pans out – the dude is massive, yet he seems to be a pretty speedy runner.

What about Savery? Does the NCAA have rules regarding a player’s signing while he is still playing?

  7. Yeah, he can’t sign a pro contract until his college season is over. I think the rule is that you have to tender a minor league contract to a player no more than 15 days after the draft, or 15 days after his season is over if he is still playing when drafted, or the player becomes a free agent.

Are there doubts that Workman isnt going to sign?

  9. I don’t think so. I believe SQUIRE mentioned elsewhere that he is pitching in the Texas high school all star game this weekend or something to that effect, so I imagine he’ll sign afterward.

Here is that story. I think this is kind of a big deal for the Texas HS players. Hopefully, he signs shortly thereafter.
